Seattle information
LOCODE: USSEA
Seattle is one of the leading cruise gateways on the west coast of the United States, set between the waters of Puget Sound and Lake Washington. The city is best known as a turnaround port, with many cruises beginning and ending here, although some itineraries also include Seattle as a port of call. Cruise passengers use two terminals, Smith Cove Cruise Terminal at Pier 91 and Bell Street Cruise Terminal at Pier 66. Each terminal serves specific cruise lines, and both are conveniently located with straightforward connections to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and the city center.
Seattle's waterfront provides an impressive first impression, with Elliott Bay forming part of the larger Puget Sound. From the cruise terminals, it is easy to reach many of the city's best known attractions. The Space Needle remains Seattle's most recognizable landmark, offering sweeping views across the skyline, while nearby Pike Place Market has welcomed visitors since the early twentieth century with its fresh produce, seafood stalls, cafés and independent shops. Walking along the waterfront reveals parks, public art and panoramic views across the bay.
The city's surroundings are just as memorable as its urban attractions. Seattle enjoys a mild Pacific Northwest climate, influenced by the nearby waters and sheltered by the Cascade Range and Olympic Mountains. This setting creates green landscapes that make outdoor activities popular throughout much of the year. Hiking trails, kayaking and scenic viewpoints are all within easy reach, while Mount Rainier dominates the horizon on clear days, rising to 14,411 feet and crowned by dozens of glaciers.
Seattle has developed a character that blends creativity, innovation and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. It is well known for its coffee culture, fresh seafood and vibrant music and arts scene, all of which are easy to discover during a stay before or after a cruise. Whether you spend your time exploring neighborhoods, browsing local markets or enjoying the waterfront, Seattle offers plenty to see beyond the cruise terminals. On The Cruise Globe, you can see exactly where your ship was docked during your visit.
